I know what you’re thinking “why would someone take a subject that’s so fun, that most people can thoroughly enjoy, that makes great conversation and then combine it with something as lame as beer?” Shame on you for saying that about beer!!! Shame! Like the best political arguments, beer is quite captivating and appealing if made well.
This blog is my incredibly self indulgent way to channel my affection for beer and my fascination with politics. Given that I reside in the Northeast of the US, in a city called Somerville just outside of Boston, you may notice that some of the beers seem unfamiliar, as do some of the politicians. Having said that, we get some great brews up here from all over the US and the world and Somerville has a good group of stores that carry popular and obscure craft brews.
The political discussion will most likely be national for the most part but I’ll post something about local events if it seems relevant to a broader point. Given my background I may venture overseas in a post or two.
As for me, I’m an immigrant to the States by way of sunny Dublin, Ireland. I moved here to spend some time with a long distance girlfriend who eventually agreed to marry me! Awww. Then she got sick of me talking about politics and beer so I started this blog. Now I’m your problem!
